On the South Uist island, lone highlander Big MacVurich finds a lone baby beast, whom he captures. The beast's mother (with the help of animal friends from far and away) completes an outlandish array of tasks for MacVurich to win her baby back. Will her work be enough to satisfy his greed? And will he get what's coming to him?
Mac Mhuirich Mòr agus a’ Bhèist is an interactive retelling of a Scottish folk tale adapted by Aislinn Hird and translated by Ruairidh MacIlleathain. With humor, it follows themes of ecological respect and the depths of a mother's love, while highlighting the landscape of the Scottish Highlands and preserving the endangered Scottish Gaelic language.
