Aislinn Hird fell in love with children's publishing and using art as a method of healing and education as a student at Pratt Institute, where she received the Thomas F. Schutte Senior Leadership Award. She grew up on a farm in a rural, mountainous, lakeside town in New Hampshire, and the natural wonder that she was steeped in as a child is a primary informer of her creative work today. Aislinn loves pushing the boundaries of traditional and digital design, and strives to use material as a world-builder of the stories she gets to tell. She especially loves getting to use her skills to highlight underrepresented cultures, traditions, and ecosystems.
Aislinn is a podcast and audiobook fiend! Her ultimate re-reads/listens are the Graceling series by Kristin Cashore, Your Brain on Art by Susan Magsamen and Ivy Ross, and the Worlds Beyond Number Podcast. Her favorite movies include anything by Cartoon Saloon and (the original) How to Train Your Dragon.
